Newport Folk Festival is an Indie and Folk-lover’s Dream

Held in idyllic Newport, Rhode Island, Newport Folk Festival returns to Fort Adams State Park on July 24-26.

With much of the lineup already released, the festival is already shaping up to be one of the summer’s most exciting bills. It brings together an eclectic mix of folk, indie rock, Americana, alternative, and genre-bending artists. Part of Newport Folk Fest’s appeal is the way that rising artists sit alongside legendary performers, while indie rock and alternative influences continue to blend seamlessly into the festival’s roots-focused identity.

So far, the lineup includes artists like Brandi Carlile, Hayley Williams (who made a surprise appearance last year during Jack Antonoff’s set), The Lumineers, Wednesday, Courtney Barnett, Infinity Song, Medium Build, and Ms. Lauryn Hill. It also includes Zany Waves favorites such as CMAT, Searows, Dove Ellis, Trousdale, and Lucy Dacus.

Although tickets for Newport Folk Festival are currently sold out, fans can still join the official waitlist through DICE.

Alongside music, attendees can expect local food vendors, nonprofit organizations, artisan markets, and the laid-back atmosphere that has helped make Newport one of the most beloved festival destinations in the country.
