Last week, Yungblud brought the IDOLS World Tour to The Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan. With a line out front that stretched multiple blocks down the street, it is safe to say that his fans know how to show up and show out.

Upon Yungblud taking the stage, the roughly 2,800 fans inside The Fillmore were so loud, they sounded like 10,000. Opening with “Hello Heaven, Hello” set the tone for the night with its sweeping dynamics and raw intensity. Yungblud has a talent for maintaining a high-energy stage presence from start to finish and this performance was no exception. He knows how to keep his fans engaged through the entire show, feeding off their energy and giving it back tenfold.

There were a few standout moments from the show that stuck with me and elevated the experience. When Yungblud’s song, “Fleabag,” came around in his setlist, he pulled a fan from the crowd to play guitar on stage during his performance. As soon as the fan played the first note, the crowd went wild, screaming in support of the girl having her moment in the spotlight. Another highlight of the night was Yungblud’s cover of “Changes” by Black Sabbath, paying tribute to the late rock legend, Ozzy Osbourne. Fans first heard this cover this past July during Ozzy’s Back to the Beginning farewell concert. It was very apparent that the venue was full of Ozzy’s fans, the crowd's participation in the song gave me chills from head to toe. In the second half of the song, Yungblud brought out a younger fan from the crowd to help him sing as well, creating an unforgettable experience for all.

As previously mentioned, Yungblud has a magnetic stage presence. He knows exactly what the crowd needs to keep their energy high, whether that's through his hard hitting, emotional lyrics, or prompting the crowd to sing along and give everything they’ve got. A rather simple stage setup allowed Yungblud to truly shine and deliver a real performance with him taking center stage.

This was my third tour seeing Yungblud and he never disappoints. The energy in the venue can be felt the second you step inside. What he provides for fans is more than just a show, it's an experience. He creates a space for fans full of community and shared moments with friends and strangers alike. If you have the opportunity to see him live, don’t miss it. It truly is an unforgettable show.
