The Haunt headlined Saturday at Skull House Rock Festival in Dundalk, Maryland. Lead singer Anastasia Grace Haunt and guitarist/singer Maxamillion “Max” Haunt were joined by bassist Cameron Knopp and drummer Joey Castro on their inaugural headline New Addiction tour.
True to their band name, The Haunt embraced the Halloween spirit with bloodied costumes inspired by Carrie (1976). Anastasia sported a prom sash over a lacy dress, while the boys rocked button-downs and corsages.
Anastasia and Max’s sibling intuition showed. Max’s lower tones blended magnetically with Anastasia’s belts, adding a rougher edge while still letting her shine. Anastasia never stayed in one place for long, jumping and crawling through the flashing lights like the floor was on fire and her bare feet couldn’t touch it for longer than a second.
I also caught electric sets from female-fronted alt rock acts Davvn, Armani Broken, and lolitslea. Catchy choruses about empowerment and burnout from Davvn (pronounced “dawn”) are still stuck in my head. Armani Broken shared tender moments with her fiance, Rhiannon Sorto, and with the rest of the crowd too. Lolitslea brought fans in costume onstage to dance and help her toss out beach balls.
Don’t miss the rest of The Haunt’s New Addiction tour, continuing across the U.S. through December.
