On May 14th, 2025, Alessia Cara took the stage at MTELUS in Montreal to begin the Canadian leg of her “Love & Hyperbole” tour.
Fans, who were already buzzing with excitement after a performance by her opener, Jon Vinyl, were chanting and cheering as she opened with “Go Outside!,” “Dead Man,” and “Left Alone.” As the set continued, Alessia Cara spoke a bit about the inspiration behind the songs she was performing.
During slower songs, Alessia Cara encouraged fans to take out their phone flashlights and sway them in the air to the beat of the songs. This is always one of my favorite moments as a concert goer, as it’s a beautiful display of community, and shows how people who are completely different to one another can unite through music.

Midway through the set, Alessia Cara asked the crowd if there were any “OG fans” in attendance, as she performed “Stay,” her song with Zedd, and “Wild Things,” which were two very popular songs early in her career. She followed those performances with a surprise song, where she picks a random song of hers to play each night of the tour. For Montreal, she picked “Feels Right!”
“Fire,” from her latest album Love & Hyperbole, was included in the setlist as well, which during a press release, Cara described as the song that felt most personal to her, as it was the “first time I've ever written a love song without any sort of fear attached to it or any sort of negativity or stubbornness around it.”
As the set came to a close, fans cheered and sang every word of “Scars to Your Beautiful” and the encore, “Here.” The night was filled with so much energy and love, and it’s safe to say Alessia Cara felt a warm welcome back to Canada on this leg of the tour.
