Ahead of the release of his sixth studio album, Sam Cook-Parrott — better known as Radiator Hospital — released the third and final single from his 2026 album DISTORTING TIME. Following “Wall Between Us” and “A Fine Vintage,” “Walk With Love” touches on themes of morality and immigration in a simple yet powerful way.

In a press release posted to the Philadelphia-based artist’s Instagram, Cook-Parrott stated, “I wrote it shortly after thugs paid for by the U.S. government murdered Alex Pretti. It’s about trying to keep your head up as an everyday person while everything around you feels backwards, awful, and disgusting.” He accompanied the statement with photographs of graffiti reading, “ABOLISH ICE.”

Alex Pretti was a 37-year-old American intensive care nurse who was shot and killed by two United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Minneapolis, Minnesota, following widespread protests against Operation Metro Surge and the killing of Renée Good. Good was another 37-year-old American mother who was shot and killed by a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis just two weeks prior.

In the wake of their deaths, Cook-Parrott pays homage to them both in his opening verse: “If they’re gonna kill you anyway / Are you gonna walk with love? / Face this violent world / With the strength of a mother or a nurse.”

Cook-Parrott keeps his energy mellow throughout the song, choosing a slow, soft guitar strum over his usual DIY, low-key punk rock sound. His recognizable, idiosyncratic, nasal vocals are present as always as he contemplates the future.

“Through the fog of hate, are you gonna walk with love? / Resist the despair, though it’s bound to get worse in a repressive state. / Are you gonna walk with love? / While years of progress flow past you in reverse, will you fight against it? / Are you gonna walk with love?”

Like many of us, Cook-Parrott is choosing to see through the hate and fight against it as immigrants living in the United States are continuously targeted in increasingly violent ways. By refusing to accept and comply with these attacks, he is using his art as a way to directly protest what is happening. As facism seeks to destroy art like this song, resistance and defiance is needed now more than ever. Cook-Parrott uses “Walk With Love” as a reminder to be strong and protect your neighbors.

Radiator Hospital’s DISTORTING TIME is out on all platforms as of August 14, 2026.
