As a frequent concert-goer and Atlanta local, no words could possibly describe the shock and surprise I felt experiencing Keshi’s Requiem tour.

Entering The Eastern, a fairly new venue in Atlanta, I was unsure of what to expect. The buzz and chatter happening before the show somehow made the venue itself feel like it was much bigger, and yet there was this intimate understanding that everyone was there to enjoy themselves and the sets.

As openers Starfall and Mac Ayres hit the stage, and really all throughout their sets, it was clear that the crowd was energized by the performances and ready to enjoy good music.

However, from the moment Keshi appeared to the moment he finished his set and shared time with fans, the crowd was entranced in the music and all the anecdotes he had to share throughout. Never had I ever seen such an engaged and respectful crowd.

Not only that, but Keshi’s performance itself was something rare and special to have witnessed. Everything from the visuals and flow of the setlist to the emotion in how he sang his lyrics, his passion for his craft shone through. Being in that room, I can honestly say it was beautiful to have witnessed such care and passion from an artist, and such understanding and love from his fans.

Keshi gave fans, both old and new, the chance to hear music from his entire discography, and took short breaks in between to fully immerse them in how those songs came to be. There were moments where he shared his story prior to making music, and even moments where the crowd was able to laugh and bond with him.

Leaving that show, I can genuinely say I would encourage anyone who wants to see true drive and passion for music to see Keshi perform live. Fans left the venue feeling electric and inspired, with special moments that could only happen in Atlanta on their mind. I’ll never forget how fans went all out, bringing books and matcha to the show, or how a fan yelled from the crowd for Keshi to play his unreleased song we’ve all been waiting to hear. It was a night to remember, and one that will stay on my mind until his next tour.
