Dayseeker has announced that they will be releasing their new album Creature in the Black Night on October 24th. To celebrate the release of the album announcement, the band released the title track as a single.

The track opens with an eerie synthwave that instantly creates a dark and cinematic tone before shifting into heavier riffs paired with Rory Rodriguez’s haunting vocals. The opening line, “Guilty hands can’t hide their plans, Once I got a hold on you, I won’t let go,” sets the tone immediately. The first line paints a picture of toxic obsession and an overwhelming hunger for control over someone or something.

The chorus stands out with the line, “You run like a creature in the black night.” It paints the image of someone who’s always running whether it’s from others, from themselves, or from the truth. No matter what, they always end up alone. There’s a sad, almost hopeless feeling that runs through the song, especially with the repeated line, “You’ll be alone in your bed ‘til the bitter end.”

Musically, the song blends soft, dreamy parts with heavy, emotional bursts. Rory Rodriguez’s vocals go from smooth and calm to intense and raw, matching the mood of the lyrics perfectly. Hat’s off to Rodriguez for dropping the sickest “BLEGH” of 2025.

What makes this track especially interesting is how it doesn’t just talk about a breakup or lost love. The band takes it deeper into how someone can feel like a stranger in their own body, like they’re sick with emotions they can’t control. There’s a lot of pain hidden under the surface, and Dayseeker brings it to life.

The song ends without offering a solution or happy ending. It stays in that dark place, showing what it feels like to be trapped in a cycle of running, wanting, and breaking apart.

With this single, Dayseeker gives fans a strong preview of what’s to come on Creature in the Black Night. If the rest of the album is anything like this, we might be getting Dayseeker’s best album to date.
