CMAT is back with “Jamie Oliver Petrol Station,” the third single from her upcoming album. True to form, the Irish country-pop star leans into camp and absurdity, delivering a song that fits seamlessly alongside her recent releases. Spoiler: it’s not a diss track. Well, at least not fully. Rather, “Jamie Oliver Petrol Station” is a cheeky track that explores the futility of hatred.

“The whole point of the song is actually my annoyance and intolerance and hatred of other people serves absolutely no purpose in my life and is a really bad instinct that I have,” shared CMAT. “So it’s actually a love song for Jamie Oliver, if you think about it. It’s me being like ‘don’t be a bitch and stop judging people for annoyances.‘”

CMAT’s ability to blend humor with self-awareness is part of what sets her apart. Where many artists might retreat into irony as a shield, she pushes further, turning absurdity into a mirror. “Jamie Oliver Petrol Station” may start as a joke about the celebrity chef, but it ends up interrogating something deeper: our capacity for misplaced anger, and the smallness it brings.

The single follows the viral success of “Take A Sexy Picture Of Me,” a biting critique of youthful beauty standards and the commercialization of the female image. That song sparked a fan-made dance, dubbed “The Woke Macarena,” that took off online.

Both singles in addition to “Running/Planning” are part of CMAT’s upcoming album EURO-COUNTRY, which will release on August 29 via AWAL Recordings. CMAT will also be busy touring throughout the summer and fall, with US, UK, and Ireland dates in the following months. Many shows are already sold out – you can find them all here.
