Julia Wolf’s The Pressure World Tour came to the Turf Club in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and I had the absolute pleasure of being there. It was one of those shows that reminded me exactly why I love smaller venues. There’s just something about the intimacy of a place like the Turf Club that makes the experience feel personal. It was the perfect setting for a night of incredible performances, raw emotion, and unforgettable music.

The night kicked off with Ellis, who set the tone with a dark and atmospheric set. Their music had this haunting quality that just pulled the crowd in. It was moody in the best way possible. Despite the shadowy vibe of the music, Ellis was incredibly present on stage and took a moment to speak about the ongoing ICE raids happening across the country. That moment hit hard. To hear an artist not only acknowledge what’s happening in the world but actually take time to say something meaningful about it – it really stuck with me. It made me feel like we were all in the room for more than just music. We were sharing something real.

Next up was Worry Club, and they flipped the energy completely. Their set was pure rock energy from the first note. Lead singer Chase Walsh was electric, bouncing all over the stage like he was trying to be everywhere at once. His energy was infectious and had the whole crowd moving. Worry Club also addressed the ICE raids, which I found incredible. It’s not every day you see multiple artists at a show using their platform like that. It felt like a community moment, a reminder that music and activism don’t have to be separate things.

When Julia Wolf finally came on stage, the crowd went wild. The second she stepped out, everyone started screaming – it felt like we’d been waiting for that moment all night. She had a really cool and confident vibe, but still felt connected to the crowd. Wolf played a mix of her older songs and new ones, and you could tell the audience was into every single one.

The loudest moments were during “Hydra,” “FOR THE GIRLS,” and “Pearl.” You could see how much those songs meant to people – some were singing with their eyes closed, others reached toward the stage. “FOR THE GIRLS” especially turned into a big, fun, empowering moment for everyone.

Julia’s voice live was every bit as powerful and captivating as it is on her recordings. She sings in a way that makes it feel personal, like she’s talking right to you. Each song felt like a story she was sharing with us, which made the whole night feel even more meaningful.
